These are the rules for using WhizzNotes. By using the site or making an account, you agree to them. If you are a student, read them with a parent or teacher if anything is not clear. Our privacy policy says what we keep about you and why.
The short version
- WhizzNotes is free. Use it to learn.
- You need to be 15 or older to make your own account. Younger students use an account that a parent or teacher makes for them.
- We work hard to get every note right, but mistakes can happen. Check with your teacher if something looks wrong, and tell us.
- Be fair: do not try to break the site, use someone else's account or copy our notes to another site.
Who we are
WhizzNotes is run by the WhizzNotes team in New South Wales, Australia. You can reach us at info@whizznotes.com.
Using the notes
- Anyone can read the notes, with or without an account.
- You can print or save notes for your own study, and teachers can use them with their own classes. Please link to the page rather than copying it.
- The notes, quizzes, pictures and the WhizzNotes name belong to us. Do not copy whole chapters or quizzes to another website or app, and do not sell them.
- WhizzNotes is an independent study site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or accredited by NESA or the NSW Department of Education. Our notes follow the NSW syllabuses, but they are not official NESA material.
Accounts
- Age. You need to be 15 or older to make your own account. If you are younger, ask a parent or teacher to make an account and add you with a username.
- Keep your password safe. Do not share your account or use someone else's.
- Tell us the truth. Use your real name or a name your parent or teacher knows you by.
- Deleting. You can delete your account at any time in Account settings.
Parents and teachers
- You can add students to your account and see how they are going.
- Only add a student if you are their parent or guardian, or their teacher. A teacher must have their school's permission to use WhizzNotes with students and must follow the school's rules, including telling parents where the school asks for that.
- Choose a safe password for each student you add, and keep it private.
- If you delete your account, the students you added with a username are deleted too.
Fair use of the site
Do not:
- try to get into accounts or parts of the site that are not yours;
- try to break, overload or slow down the site, or get around its security;
- copy the site with automated tools, apart from search engines that follow our robots.txt file;
- send feedback that is rude, unkind or not about the chapter, or that includes anyone's private details.
We may stop an account that breaks these rules. If we can, we will tell you why first.
Mistakes and results
We check every chapter, but notes and quiz answers can still have mistakes. Use WhizzNotes alongside your classes, textbooks and teachers, not in place of them. We cannot promise any mark or result in a school test, the HSC or the selective school test. Scores, "Target reached" and "Chapter done" are study goals inside WhizzNotes, not predictions of an exam mark.
If you find a mistake, use the feedback box at the end of the chapter or email us, and we will fix it.
Your rights under consumer law
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be changed by an agreement.
Apart from those rights, and as far as the law allows, WhizzNotes is given as it is, and we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using it, from a mistake in the notes, or from the site being unavailable for a time.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. For a big change, we will also email account holders. If you keep using WhizzNotes after a change, the new terms apply.
The law that applies
These terms follow the law of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute goes to the courts of New South Wales.
